Celebrate Yourself.

Hello people. Happy new week. Hope we all had a restful weekend? It's another week again and the year is gradually rolling away. For many the end of a year comes with so much anxiety, feelings of disappointments due to unmet expectations and unrealized goals. We are humans and it's okay to set goals and have expectations but it's also okay to be at peace if those expectations didn't turn out the way we wanted. So many of us have worked so hard during the year, given our best and now that the year is wrapping up, let's do well to celebrate how far we have come. The truth is you may not have attained what you wanted to attain, but you are not where you used to be certainly. You've improved and grown in very remarkable ways that you can't imagine. That your progress was noiseless doesn't mean there wasn't any. Celebrate yourself, celebrate the gift of life you have, celebrate the fact that you were ill and now you're fine, celebrate...

Competition.

Hello everyone. How has your day been? Today we'll look at something we find very common among us as human beings. Competition is defined by the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary to mean; 1. A situation where people try to be more successful or better than someone else. 2.  An event where people compete with each other to find out the best at something. 3. The people who are competing against someone or whom someone is competing against. Our focus today is majorly on the first and perhaps the third definition. Competition is something that can both be healthy and move people forward or can become a destructive force that can slow down progress. When you see people set great records, do extraordinary things and you pick positive challenges from that and try to do your best as well to create a positive mark then you can be said to be in HEALTHY COMPETITION. On the other hand when people's progress makes you feel insecure, afraid, envious and unhapp...

Make the Days Count.

Hi friends, Looking back at the year in retrospect I believe everyone one of us will remember one or two persons they know that has passed on to the other side, by that I mean we know people who died this year. One of the reasons we keep hearing great people tell us to live meaningful lives is because our existence here is only for a while. It doesn't matter how old you become, someday you'll leave this phase of life and will become part of the long history of humanity. The question is how would you like to be remembered? What you like your unborn generation after you say when they hear of what you did while you were here? These are questions we will need to ponder on as we go about our daily activities. And just so we know, it's the day to day choices we make that span out as our life story in the long run. That cheer or pain you caused daily, that employee who's wages you denied or delayed unnecessarily, that person in need whom you could help bu...

Your pain is a birth pang of Greatness.

Hello people! Welcome to another new week. Hope you had a restful weekend? We are here again to stir up our spirits as we go into the week. Yesterday I had a phone conversation with a friend and she told me that Don Moen was at their church and how the service was awesome. She went ahead to narrate how during that service, he began to talk about his life story. He and his wife struggled with infertility issues for good 12 years before eventually going ahead to have 5 children in 8 years after the long wait. Listening to that story sparked some line of thoughts within me which is what I'm going to be sharing with us all this afternoon. 1. Every great man faced CHALLENGES. 2. Every great man persevered through the CHALLENGE. 3. Every great man eventually overcame that CHALLENGE. Check out the stories of great people and this is the pattern you will see in EVERY ONE of their life stories. There is no truly great man who didn't face problems and overcam...

Hello friends, Happy new month y'all. It's December already! Wow! How time flies. I'm so excited! Christmas is by the corner.😁. We give thanks to God for the gift of life. Man by nature is a social being which means he must interact and form relationships with people around him and this is perfectly okay. Sometimes in the midst of these interactions and relationships we tend to lose that uniqueness that is peculiar to each of us. We pick up the general views of the groups and people we intera...

What are you saying to yourself?

Hello everyone, It's a new week again and a transitional o e at that. This week marks the end of the 11th month and ushers us into the very last month of the year, yipeee. This means Christmas is around the corner already.😁 So as the week unfolds it's important you realize the power of self talk.  Like what are you telling yourself always? Do you motivate yourself or you just run yourself down with negative words? From research and personal experience I've learnt that no matter how much people outside speak positively about you, if you never say similar things to yourself, your life will follow the direction of the negatives. As you go about your activities this week, say something nice to yourself. Celebrate you, I know you've made mistakes and your life isn't currently how you want it to be but nonetheless still celebrate you. It is a powerful tool for lifting you into your next level of victory. Have a beautiful week ahead.

Many times in life the one thing that keeps us from doing what we are supposed to do is fear of the unknown. Thoughts like 'will I succeed?', 'will people support me?' and all kinds of thoughts are capable of crippling our hopes. But one thing that is common to most successful people is the ability to do pursue that dream in spite of the fear. Sometimes to really get things done, you have to 'do them afraid'. No body has the full picture when they begin that journey to greatness but they start anyway. And as they move, the picture begins to unfold right before their very eyes. So incase there's this passion and dream burning in your heart and you're afraid of starting, just go ahead and take the risk. Remember you do not have all the time at your disposal. As the week begins, make up your mind and start from somewhere, because that's where to begin from.

A Day At a Time.

Hello dearies. As you begin the new week just live one day at a time.  We live in a fast paced world now where everything is almost instant.  While this is something good owing to the technological advancements we have made in such a short time, it also has cons on us all. The pressure of setting goals and achieving them can become a nightmare if not well handled and balanced. This is what leads to burn outs, depression and high blood pressure in most people. This is why even though it is necessary to set goals, plan ahead and all that, it is also important that we take them in piece meals by concentrating on what is necessary for now. The way you live your now cumulatively decides how your future will look like eventually. So this week, make your plans but live 'one day at a time.' Photo credit:lovethispic.com

Courage

Hello friends, Another weekend is here again. How did your week go? Let's consider the subject of Courage today. What does Courage mean? The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines courage as the mental or moral strength to venture, preserve, and withstand danger, fear or difficulty. Courage is that quality that helps us do something inspite of unfavorable conditions. Truly as you journey daily through life, you will or have already found out that there are a lot of things that will try to put fear in one's heart. There are challenges that when they happen, can literally shake one to his or her very foundation. There are also people to contend with. By that I mean popular opinions and ways of living that people around you have become accustomed to. Daring to be different from the accepted norm can really be a huge challenge. But if your life must count in this lifetime and you intend to leave a mark behind, you must swallow an overdose of courage.  Bei...

'Inbox Etiquette'

Hello friends. How has your week been? It's attitude Friday again and today we'll look at 'Inbox etiquettes.' With the advent of the social media came with the chat features that allows people on most social media platforms to have a one-on-one conversation with their friends or whoever it is that they want to converse with. While this is a very effective and nice way of getting to know people and have meaningful discussions with them, it has also been subjected to abuse. We have had people just barge into a total stranger's inbox without any courtesy and begin to ask for favors or ask very personal questions. Some have even taken it so far and have used it as a medium for fraud. Social media is a huge opportunity to meet and create very lasting and profitable relationships if we know how well to approach. So what is an Etiquette? Merriam Webster dictionary defines etiquette as the rules indicating proper and polite ways to behave. Inbox et...

Self Sabotage..

The most dangerous set of human beings to have around are people with low self esteem and  deep insecurity. People with such issues turn out to be quite problematic in life as they relate with others based on how they see themselves. A person who literally has no iota of love for himself/ herself is going to find it difficult to give genuine and wholehearted love to those around them. Emotionally unhealthy people can hardly give others peace and a sense of value in any kind of relationship.  In most cases you find out that they are mostly distrustful, manipulative, controlling and abusive ( both physical and verbal).  They treat people badly because they feel low themselves. They feel they are already lost and for that see no reason why they should show any sympathy or empathy to another human being.  If they don't seek for professional help, most end up as murderers and leave people who related with them in battered and shattered state of minds. ...
