'Inbox Etiquette'

Hello friends. How has your week been? It's attitude Friday again and today we'll look at 'Inbox etiquettes.' With the advent of the social media came with the chat features that allows people on most social media platforms to have a one-on-one conversation with their friends or whoever it is that they want to converse with. While this is a very effective and nice way of getting to know people and have meaningful discussions with them, it has also been subjected to abuse. We have had people just barge into a total stranger's inbox without any courtesy and begin to ask for favors or ask very personal questions. Some have even taken it so far and have used it as a medium for fraud. Social media is a huge opportunity to meet and create very lasting and profitable relationships if we know how well to approach. So what is an Etiquette? Merriam Webster dictionary defines etiquette as the rules indicating proper and polite ways to behave. Inbox et...

Self Sabotage..

The most dangerous set of human beings to have around are people with low self esteem and  deep insecurity. People with such issues turn out to be quite problematic in life as they relate with others based on how they see themselves. A person who literally has no iota of love for himself/ herself is going to find it difficult to give genuine and wholehearted love to those around them. So when we go to ask for goods and services, we expect top notch attention to our demands. But has it ever occurred to us that our service providers also need some respect from us? This is our focus today.  Every year, millions of dollars are spent by organizations and individuals alike in  training programs just to acquire excellent and efficient customer service skills that can help them serve their clients better and optimally and honestly, giant strides have been made in that respect. Our focus now is on the flip side of the coin where the customer now relates with the service provider. Generally speaking because of the level of attention and possibly hype given to the customers many unfortunately have taken to abusing that privilege. In many societies, especially one like ours (Nigeria) we have noticed a ri...

The Place of Honor in Relationships.

'Give honor to whom honour is due' is one very popular saying that we are all familiar with. But what exactly does it mean to give honour? According to the Oxford Living dictionaries, Honor as a verb is defined as having great respect for or give public respect for someone or something. It also means to hold someone or something in high esteem may be based on their worth, value, accomplishments or position in life. Honour is basically a thing of the mind. It is how we view and accord importance to thet thingswe perceive as worthy of our respect which in turn reflects in the way we treat or handle such people or institutions we perceive as honorable. Honour is earned, it is not something that is inherited. Something has to be done or a feat achieved for you to command that respect from people. When we know someone or a thing is Honorable what should be our attitude to it? What do we stand to gain or lose when we honor or dishonor people? We have alread...
