Courage

Hello friends, Another weekend is here again. How did your week go? Let's consider the subject of Courage today. What does Courage mean? The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines courage as the mental or moral strength to venture, preserve, and withstand danger, fear or difficulty. Courage is that quality that helps us do something inspite of unfavorable conditions. Truly as you journey daily through life, you will or have already found out that there are a lot of things that will try to put fear in one's heart. There are challenges that when they happen, can literally shake one to his or her very foundation. There are also people to contend with. By that I mean popular opinions and ways of living that people around you have become accustomed to. Daring to be different from the accepted norm can really be a huge challenge. But if your life must count in this lifetime and you intend to leave a mark behind, you must swallow an overdose of courage.  Bei

Unveiling the Spleen: II

It's another week again. How has the week been for you thus far? Apologies for posting this late. So today we'll be looking at the concluding part of our discussion on the spleen. We'll be focusing on the disorders that can compromise the spleen's normal functioning. Disorders of the spleen. 1. Splenomegaly: This refers to the enlargement of the spleen beyond its normal size. There are factors and disease conditions responsible for this and are as follows; - Infections such as malaria, mononucleosis. - Liver diseases such as cirrhosis. - Sickle cell anemia. - Cancers such as Leukemia and Lymphomas. An enlarged spleen is most times palpable on the left side of the abdomen during physical examinations and can also be detected through medical imaging techniques such as CT scans and I. 2. Ruptured Spleen: This is a condition where the spleen breaks or ruptures on its surface. It is a medical emergency and prompt attention should be sought. Causes
