A Note to Abusers.

One of the most important things to note especially in these days that we live is how healthy your emotional life is.

Today at work i had a case refered to me on domestic violence against a pregnant woman by her spouse.

As I checked the woman and baby i began to wonder in my heart what would be so bad that a man would beat up his heavily pregnant wife.
In recent times I've seen lots of cases of abuse at an alarming and scary rate. It's like an outbreak that we must deal with.

Truth be when a person's emotional life is not in order, that person may become a disaster to himself and all around him.

A lot has been said about how victims should safe guard themselves against such people so I won't dwell much on that today.

Let me say something to abusers though.

We all know that you do what you do because deep inside you're a broken vessel. Broken by whatever circumstance it is that brought you where you are.

People who hurt end up hurting others we are told.

You feel low and bad about yourself. You hate yourself and then take out that self hate on others by seeking ways to hurt them so you can feel some relief and feel better.

But unfortunately you realize that each time you do that, it's like tying yourself up with a rope.

You never get better. Instead you sink deeper in your abyss of self hate and depression.

You know what? No one really is responsible for what you feel. Yes I said so. Whatever might have made you feel that bad has happened to someone before too and they didn't take it out on anyone.

They found a solution inward by facing that demon and telling it, it can't define their lives.

That's what you should do. Rise against that darkness in you and tell it to give way. Else you will keep sinking till the day you end up destroying precious lives as well as your own.

Low self esteem is destructive. It destroys faster than a ravaging cancer.

Deal with your fears, envies, shame, disappointments before they eat you up and make a mess of your life.

You do have a life and you matter to God, yourself and your loved ones.

Stop being an instrument of pain and destruction.

If you can't do it alone, seek help.

- See a counselor. If you don't know where to get one check online.

- If you can pray, please pray. I'm not talking about religious obligation here. I mean stripping your heart naked before God. Telling Him about the horrible hate and pain you habor and how you're helpless and so need Him to help you out. It works powerfully.

- Tell yourself that you matter. Say positive things to yourself. It's liberating.

- Don't live for people's approval. Just live your own life.

True emotional healing is true health. You can't rise above your self image.

Stop degrading yourself with bitter thoughts. Release them and live.

Stop hurting those around you.

It won't make you better. It's only enslaves you further.

Peace. 🙏
