Is your speech graceful?

Hello friends. How's the been been?
Thank God it's Friday again.

This morning during my prayer time I read something from a devotional booklet I use.

It had to do with speech.

One of the things emphasized there was how, many a time, because of lack of wisdom in speaking to people so many have driven away from their lives valuable people and relationships.

Effective and proper communication is an art that everyone who wants to go far in life must learn.

Sometimes it is not enough to know what to say, how to say it is also important, in fact far more important.

We know that words are like eggs and once dropped they cannot be put together again.

Therefore it is important that we are very, very deliberate and intentional in with our speech.

We live in a time when people are so insensitive and just throw words at people whether close friends, family or even strangers without bothering about the effect on them.

I read from the Bible in Proverbs that a 'soft answer will turn away wrath', which means a rough one will trigger it.

Let's learn to speak to people graciously.

Let our words build and not destroy people.

Life these days is tough already, let's not added to the already heavy burden borne by people through insensitive remarks.

How do you talk to your spouses?

How do you talk to or about your employees or employers?

How do you talk to your children?

How about your social media platforms?

What do you do with them?

To sub people, spread hate or encourage and build them up?

As you approach the weekend, will you make up your mind to encourage rather than put someone down?

I'll do same and I hope you will. Let's make the world better through the words we speak.

Happy weekend.

The Crisis of Identity.

When we went from placing value on what really matters to just external things humanity fell so hard and broke it's back. The impact of that fall is why we have so many people with low self esteem and terrible identity crises. Much more than failing economies, hunger, disease, widespread poverty is the crisis of the individual.  The crisis of seeking validation, of feeling some sort of worth and value. That inner questioning and probing that requires an answer. Sadly many people do not have the answer to that inner question. They then turn to things, all kinds of external things and invite them to come in and answer that inner man. Unfortunately the externals can't do so. They lack the capacity to answer those questions and the individual in a bid to either answer or silence that question seeks more of these externals and at every point they keep saying No, we don't have the answers. The individual is now confused, what do I do? Then he sights another human li...
