Mother Eagles 1

One of my 2022 resolve is to follow and learn from great people who have made significant impact in their career path.

Beginning on that journey I stumbled on one of the most powerful women on planet earth.

She becomes my Newest Mother Eagle.

Her name is Indra Nooyi.

She's Indian.

She was the former CEO of PepsiCo and also the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

She was CEO for 12 years-2006 to 2018.

Chairman Board of Directors 2007-2019.

She started her life in India. Came from a family that helped support female education strongly.

Had a degree in Chemistry and Physics.

Went on to have a Masters.

Worked with Johnson and Johnson and then a Textile company in India.

Later went to the US and got a Management Degree at Yale.

She then worked with a company in Boston and later Motorola where she rose to become a Vice President.

She joined PepsiCo in 1996.

By 2001 She rose to become President and Chief Financial Officer.

In this capacity she helped the company expand by acquiring other food and beverage companies to add to their portfolio.

She became CEO in 2006.

She came in at a time that the company had financial crisis.

She met a company with a funds in the range of about 35 billion dollars and as at the time she left the company had over 65 billion dollars in profit.

She led a revolution in the company that saw them making more healthier food and drinks for their customers.

According to her, she said she looked at the trends and how people were becoming more conscious of what they consumed and decided if they were going to stay in the market then they had to also make those adjustments.

This meant more money had to go to into research and development.

Then investors kicked against it. They were more interested in short term big time profit.

But somehow she was able to get around it and succeeded.

She left in 2018 leaving behind her a better and more vibrant company.

She currently sits on the board of Amazon.

She has also written a book around her life, family and work.

My greatest fascination with her was her ability to combine such enormous work with raising her family.

She's had a pretty successful marriage as well.

For the past 4 days I've been watching so many of her videos on various issues  and I was just blown away.

Super intelligent.

 Resourceful.

Great communication skills.

Ability to manage relationships well.

So many things I've learnt from her these few days.

And I've adopted her as one of my Mother Eagles.

Let me stop here.

The post is long already. 😁

Juvenile Diabetes.

Juvenile Diabetes seems like a strange word because that disease is usually associated with adults. But in this article we will look at what that really means.  Sometime last month i was chatting with a friend on issues of diet and she went on to tell me about her observation on how a lot of modern parents in a bid to make their kids feel good or pampered stuff them with all kinds of unhealthy snacks coated with so much sugar and unhealthy preservatives. I remember also reading an article few years back about how exercises were forcefully added to school curriculums in one of these advanced countries in the middle east as they observed lots of their children coming down with obesity and diabetes. These two scenarios prompted me to write this post especially for parents, to mind what their children eat. --------- ------------- ------------ ---------- ------------- What is Juvenile Diabetes?
