The scarcest type of Love...

Someone said the scarcest form of love is self love and i agree.

We tend to love others first and ourselves last.

The greatest commandment given to us by that Great Rabbi of all times Christ Himself hinges on self love, it says after loving God with all your heart and all, then you are to LOVE your NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF.

This means giving your neighbor the same kind of love you can give to yourself .

This goes to show that you can only truly love others from the springs and depths of self love you possess.

In other words, you cannot effectively love others when you haven't loved yourself enough.

And what does it mean to love yourself?

It just means a healthy view and appreciation of the totality of who you are.

You see yourself as a valuable person and a source of blessing go others and not neccessarily needing another human being to make you feel that way or help give you your worth.

This self love essentially stems from a deep relationship with your Creator and manufacturer that is why the first commandment says you are to love God.

When you love God, He opens you up to seeing who you are really and when you see it, naturally appreciation and love fills your heart.

Out of that bounty of joy and appreciation of your greatness you give out love freely and truly without any strings attached to your neighbour.

That love in turn does not strangulate the reciepient but helps liberate them to also see themselves for who they truly are.

If we give out love based on this understanding we will have a ripple effect of people with healthy self esteem who will change the world and make it better.

Most times in life we are faced with the pressure to compare the goings on in our lives with those of our peers especially. Succumbing to this pressure is one of the greatest source of stress and unhappiness in life. Life is a personal race and will always be that way, even your unique makeup and fingerprint attests to that. So if they buy the car before you then what? If they get married , get the job, contract, children, admission, houses or whatever it is before you then what? Does it stop your heart from beating or your lungs from taking in air? Allow people to move at their speed, if they are ready to overtake you let them and move at your own pace. Save yourself the stress of competition, you'll get there if you don't give up but just take your time.
