Our Choices, Our Reflections...

The human being as we all know is endowed with the ability or the power to make choices that is why we have a 'will'.

We all have the God given the capacity to decide on whatever line of action we desire to take.

The direction our choices take however shows what we value or what is most important to us as individuals, families, communities, tribes and even nations.

Every choice is a reflection of belief systems, values and ideals.

You want to know who or what an individual stands for?

Do not go far, just check the kinds of decisions and choices they make.

Everyone gravitates towards what fascinates them, gives them satisfaction and a sense of self- worth.

I happened to be on a thread on one of the social media platforms and read a story of how some mothers whose daughters had been defiled by very close family members where some were even the husbands of such women.

The sad thing is the women would rather cover up for such men than get justice for their daughters who had been violated.

Now what informs such decisions and choices to keep quiet is the belief and ideals held by these women. Which is that their marriages are more important than the dignity of their daughters who had been violated.

They would rather choose marriage over their child's emotional well being.

Likewise a religious fanatic or extremist, he or she would risk giving up their lives for a reward they believe they would have in the after life which to them surpasses anything in this current life.

Another person who values money above everything else would do things unimaginable at all costs just to make those notes and have his or her account filled with those treasures.

Same happens with a patroit, matyr and every other person.

Everything we do daily is a result of the choices we make, where we are currently in life is largely a product of our choices.

That's how powerful our choices are.

Our choices are the Mirrors that reflect who we really are.
